Not gonna happen - First Class 2 already has a release date fixed and starts shooting next year.

X-Men: First Class 2 (not the official title) will hit U.S. theaters on July 18th, 2014 – just a week short of a year after the next X-Men sequel due to arrive in theaters, The Wolverine. Shooting on First Class 2 is slated to get underway by January 2013, with the majority of the First Class main cast onboard to return. Matthew Vaughn will once again be holding the directorial reins, working from a script he supervised, in collaboration with his go-to writing partner, Jane Goldman, and screenwriter Simon Kinberg (Sherlock Holmes). The original First Class was a notoriously rushed production; it will be interesting to see what Vaughn can do with ample time to work – considering how well he did with so little time to create.

So who exactly from the main cast is onboard to return for this sequel? It would be really nice to see Jennifer Lawrence back as Mystique and see her be more of a bad mutant plus I wonder if they will still cloth her or do what they did for the X-Men films and have her naked to best work with the fact she can change her appearance including clothes.

Everyone will be back I'd guess. When the contracts get signed for franchise movies they usually have 2-3 extra movies added on to them.

I read on wiki that she is signed on for another one at least as well as Hunger Games. Future is bright for Ms Lawrence it would seem.

Having established that she can shift to appear as if she is wearing clothing, they should now put her in a Mystique outfit. Maybe not the white one, but something leather with the skull either on the belt or in her hair.

It'll be interesting to see where they go for it at the very least. And by having a wolverine cameo they open the realm for future movies to have him in it too. :-)

But it doesn't come face to face with the X-Men officially till the first X-Men film.

Do you think its possible to see Gambit in a future X-Men film but not related to wolverine?

Don't see why not. Fox have established "ownership" of the character in movies so he could easily be used in a future film.

Yes, definitely use FC as a basis for a reboot. The first X-Men movie was pretty good, II was alright but III was horrendous. Bring back Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman and Ellen Page, boot everyone else and start over.

There are rumors of a First Class sequel being based on "Days of Future Past", which would theoretically allow for an in-continuity reboot using time travel... à la Star Trek

In some ways I would like a 4th X-Men film but I really think that Last Stand put a nail in that coffin in too many ways. I would like a reboot if done well though.

Changed the title to X-Men: First Class 2 since that will basically be the next X-Men film to come. And its got a July 18, 2014 release date and production will start in 2013 after Jennifer Lawrence is done shooting The Hunger Games sequel.

Titdbit from Newsarama :

Quote:
Rumors have been picking up that the 2014 sequel to X-Men: First Class will indeed be a "Days of Future Past" adaptation of sorts (drawing from the oft-referenced 1981 alternate future storyline by Chris Claremont and John Byrne), primarily due to Latino Review picking up reports from a Russian website. Though it hasn't been confirmed in any amount at this point, it's worth noting that Fox has purchased the domain name "daysoffuturepast.com."
