I'm not sure if they are "cant miss" webcomics but I check VG Cats, GU Comics, Dueling Analogs, Little Gamers, Ctrl+Alt+Del and Penny Arcade everyday. usually always top quality strips.

Wow thanks haha i checked out ctrl+alt+del a couple weeks ago... and caught up already, definitely a fun one to read if you're even partly into gaming.

Another webcomic i had been completely hooked on till i caught up is megatokyo =D

XKCD is a can't miss, and Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal is generally consistent. Personally, I also religiously follow FreakAngels, and try and keep up with Questionable Content

Dr McNinja is always great fun about a ninja who is a doctor. ( drmcninja.com )
Awesome Hospital is a recently-started one about a hospital that is awesome all of the time. ( awesomehospital.com )
Lilformers is about 80's cartoons, mainly Transformers ( lilformers.com )
Schlock Mercenary was the first non-pixel webcomic I read, so that is a well loved one. However, when I started reading it, it was 2003. It began in June 2000 and has had an update every single day since then. That's what, over 3,500 comics? However it's recommended (by the comic's creator) that you start at this one in 2003: schlockmercenary.com/d/20030309.html
I agree with Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal and xkcd - though the latter contains a LOT of math and science jokes.

Those are my favourite webcomics. There's also amazingsuperpowers.com (the only website with three jokes per strip thanks to a hidden ? and alt text), Shortpacked.com (about comics, Transformers and working in a toy store), biggercheese.com (randomness finishing March next year), mocktopus.com (said to be the best up-and-coming webcomic, lostincomics.com (about Lost), thebookofbiff.com (unfortunate things that Biff experiences) and letsbefriendsagain.com (trying to be Penny Arcade without the violence and more comicbook jokes).

The only web comic I've ever read is Freak Angels and I love it without shame. I can't help myself.

Second the Freakangels statement.

I do not think it's Warren Ellis' best work but it's extraordinarily engaging for a web comic.

Multiplex can be kinda fun sometimes too if you're really hardcore into movies.

Bummer, though if it's a "can't miss", we'll get to see it translated someday.

I frequently read Lackadaisy(20's gunslinging anthromorphic cats), and have found this great weird thing called Hanna is not a boy's name(paranormal investigator his Zombie sidekick and their Vampire friend)
