The manga is ok, but it would like it even more if it was more fast paced, something like Bleach, more action less sentimentalism.

The pain arc finished a long time ago in the manga, a lot of thing that I'm not going to spoiled had happened. That's why I read the manga first and then watch the manga

I stopped watching the anime, too many flashbacks to previous episodes, kinda of waste of time. Now I just follow the manga :)

Me too I continue to get the anime, but I never miss the manga, it got to veryn interesting parts, without spiling it for the others I can say there's a lot of great combats between some of the greatest ninja (one I found very interesting in particular is between Madara and ............) I just don't want to spoil it for you, so grab the chapters and read them it's worth the effort.
By the way there's also a big secret about Pain to be revealed in the chapter 509-510.

Shippuden is basically the second part of Naruto. Everyone's (i think) one to two years older. So they're all like 16 or 17 now...I think that's the ages anyway....Sasuke's with Orochimaru training to be a badguy, Naruto's with Jirya training to be stronger, and Sakura's training with Tsunade. The story line continues on to a final fight between Sasuke and Itachi as well as several nefarious plots. It's a more mature naruto, and my favorite part of the series so far.

spoiler

way more has happened like orochimaru and jirya are dead n naruto is like a mega badass now and sasuke is just a lil bitch like always crying in the corner pulling off

I would say no because in Shippuden they usually do like flashbacks of some of the important moments back in Naruto. But if you want to see how Naruto growing-up and some really good fights you only has to watch the first 130 episodes the rest are fillers

The manga is slowly tying up loose ends now ... one giant big boss fight one after the other ... and I don't think Sasuke's been seen for nearly 50 chapters now lol
