Try to avoid the one word posts, why not just post YOUR thoughts on it?

Quote:
The biggest news of Comic Con International in San Diego was revealed moments ago and jaws are still on the floor-the world-renowned super hero MARVELMAN is now part of the Marvel Comics family! Marvel Comics has purchased the rights to MARVELMAN from creator Mick Anglo and his representatives, finding a home for one of the most sought after heroes in graphic fiction!

"It is an honor to work with Mick Anglo to bring his creation to a larger audience than ever before," said Dan Buckley, CEO & Publisher, Print, Animation & Digital Media, Marvel Entertainment Inc. "Fans are in for something special as they discover just what makes Marvelman such an important character in comic book history."
Originally created in 1954 by Mick Anglo and appearing in some of the most celebrated comic stories of all time, MARVELMAN is Micky Moran, a young reporter gifted with the power to save the world by simply uttering the word "kimota!"

"I did not think it would ever happen," said Mick Anglo. "It's a wonderful thing to see my creation finally back."
MARVELMAN is back and he's found a new home at Marvel Comics! What's next for Mick Anglo's legendary creation? Stay tuned to Marvel.com for all the news on Marvelman and this exciting new addition to the Marvel family!

Another character for Marvel to ruin. I'll stick to my Moore & Gaiman stories thanks all the same.

Yep, sorry I`m a man of few words.

Personally I`m not that wowed by the news (got friends who are blown away)... kinda agree with spaced - maybe another property to mangle unless they get the right team. Just look at The Wizard Of Oz - never expected that from Marvel.

Got to admit I'd be interested in a hardcover collection of the Warrior/Eclipse books but if they bring the character into the main 616 universe then I will lose all hope for Marvel.

I have no idea who Marvelman is..... but c'mon...what can we expect? It would have been a bit silly if DC got Marvelman for themselves right?

Besides, what has gotten your knickers bunched up already? They haven't even released any story yet ^_^

You should consider downloading some of these.
https://comickingdom.co.uk/warrior-quality-t2892.html
miracleman-alan-moore-neil-gaiman-t43.html

The writing gets increasingly pretentious, but the early stories are very accessible. Miracleman #15 is probably one of the most violent comics ever, so you should like that one.

The thing that made Micracleman was the writing, the character is just a Captain Marvel/Superman riff, but the strong characterisation and, at the time, mature content made it stand out, I really can't see a place for MM in the MU. I'll give Marvel the benefit of the doubt but as MM was a xerox of Supes, the writing style, the dark content has been appropriated by other writers so much over the last 10 years that any re-working is going to seem forced and even possibly self parody

I have been collecting comics since 1989 and haven't read a single Miracleman / Marvelman so the announcement didn't do much for me.
However the excitement surrounding the announcement has made me curious so maybe I will check out some back issues.

He can't come to 616 given the near god Sentry and the "introduction" of the Blue Marvel not too long ago.

Before Marvelman's name was retconned to Miracleman for American publication, an alternate MM (also named Miracleman) from Earth-238 appeared in one panel of Alan Moore and Alan Davis's Captain Britain strip in the Daredevils #7, which I think gave Earth-616 its name.
http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix/miracl.htm

It's probably just a matter of time before they do fully integrate at least another alternate version of Marvelman into 616. I expect they'll have him fight Miracle Man from Fantastic Four #3 over who gets to use the name.

I'm not really familiar with this comic book character, when I came in I thought it was the guy married to Big Bertha in DC wondering how on Earth was this going to work. LOL, apparently I was so wrong.

I too know nothing about this character. But that JQ picture of MM that I have seen looks very ugly...
