Basic outline for the X-Men anniversary event.

Marvel.com wrote:
This fall's X-Men: Battle of the Atom marks the first major X-Men crossover event since 2010's Second Coming, and its time-crossed ramifications will be felt throughout both the history and future.

Masterminded by writers Brian Michael Bendis, Jason Aaron and Brian Wood, the event springs directly out of the current status quo, as established by Brian Michael Bendis and Stuart Immonen in ALL-NEW X-MEN. In Battle of the Atom, the mutants of the past—currently sheltered within the walls of the Jean Grey and Xavier Schools—will be targeted by a mysterious new team: the Future X-Men! Their only goal: send the original crew back to the past by any means necessary.

~

X-Men: Battle of the Atom begins this September in X-MEN: BATTLE OF THE ATOM #1 by Bendis and artist Frank Cho then continues in UNCANNY X-MEN, ALL-NEW X-MEN, WOLVERINE & THE X-MEN and X-MEN into the next month. The crossover then concludes with X-MEN: BATTLE OF THE ATOM #2 in October by Aaron and a mystery artist, thus ensuring that the X-Men's world will never look the same again.

I remember a time when I bought all things X-related and loved it. The franchise has gotten so bogged down over the past number of years that I just find it hard to follow. Pretty sure that's why I'm only reading X-Factor at this point as it kind of stays clear of all of these X-events and just does it's own thing. Oh wait...that's getting canceled isn't it? ...dammit!...

I loving the post X community right now so Ill take it. Bendis, Wood, & Aron all writers whose work I like. Is Arthur Adams just doing the character designs though? Because I would love to see him on a few issues of one of these books.

I might actually pass on this. Too many things annoying me in the X books even though I appreciate what they are trying to do in the post a v x world. Setting good, stories not so much.

Having the original team back is just irritating me. Cool it with the time travel stuff.

Is anyone reading this?
It's fun in a way, but the logic behind it is so quite stupid it irritates me..
Some the x-men actually think it's a good idea to let time displaced younger x-men hang around, even though if they die the universe goes bye-bye, because it isn't right to "force" them to leave?!?!

They can't make the "sacrifice" of living in their own time, to avoid risking EVERYBODY IN THE UNIVERSE dying? some heroes..

I guess they would be the parents with kids with no vaccinations, pushing other kids, eating only chocolate and drawing on the wall, with them saying "we don't want to limit them, they should make their own choices"

I agree. The whole "We gotta let them make their own choices or we're hypocrites" thing is BS. But, as we're starting to be shown, the future X-Men's motives aren't necessarily altruistic.

It is entertaining to me. I've said it before, I've always loved alternate realities. I've probably read the first Age of Apocalypse 5+ times..
