There will only ever be one man who is allowed to claim that Title. Mr. Johnny Cash
He has created so much great music, and even covered songs to make them sound better. One of my favorites and of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time

Um no.

The Man in Black is Randall Flagg AKA Marten Broadcloak AKA Walter o'Dim AKA The Walkin' Dude.

And I like Johnny Cash but just like they say in Highlander, "There can only be one," and that one is from Stephen King's Dark Tower series.

The difference is, Cash is a real person and also existed before either Mr. King (whose works I do enjoy) or Randall Flagg

I love Johnny Cash. His voice was one of the best in country music and he had this deep sort of sorrow that resonated through him. When he did a cover of the Nine Inch Nails song Hurt. I just don't know of any other country singer or musician really that could have done their song and kept it just as dark and awesome as it was meant be. In my opinion Johnny Cash is one of those musicians who has an instantly recognizable voice. He is right there with Freddie Mercury, Axl Rose and Kurt Cobain, no was has ever or will ever sing like him. He is the unquestioned Man in Black.
