Hey guys

It has been so many yrs since I have picked up a title. I am trying to get back into reading and possibly eventually collecting again. However, I am not even sure where to start to read. There are so many great oldies and new titles out there. I just need a good place to start. If you love a great series or arc at the moment. Please feel to rec.

Thank you

SR

This is a commonly asked question so I've stickied the topic and put it somewhere were everyone can use it and we can refer others to.

Why don't you start by telling us what kind of stuff do you like? Also, would you prefer to read old, completed stuff, or new ongoing titles/arcs?

Well, honestly I have always loved the regulars Daredevil, Captn America, Hulk, Thor, Avengers, Xmen, Punisher, Batman, Superman, Spiderman. At one pt I had just become a collector and was just collecting everything I could get my hands on. I like it all if there is a good story and illustration. To start I guess any good arcs in any of the above mainstays would be a good way to start. However, feel free to suggest things I would never think of due to my time away. I am always willing to try new things. Hope this helps.

I suggest Daredevil Vol. 2 (about 120 issues long) , Captain America Vol. 5 (about 50 issues long) , Thor Vol. 3 (about 13 issues long) , New Avengers (about 50 issues long) .... all from #1 if you've got the time. Amazing Spider-Man and Superman/Action Comics are both good too, I just have to get back to you on what issues to start at.

panamagoo thank you for the suggestions. Will give them a shot. One at a time. Maybe the Thor since it is the shortest issue wise. I like that it will get me back on track as you said. Would it mind if I have not read anything since early 2000?

Almost anywhere you start, you can always go back further, but you should be fine starting Vol. 3 if you want though, you can read the last few issues of Vol. 2, #80-85.

ok will try that. I am a bit lost about how to go about downloading anything from this site. Is there a faqs on how to download. Do you have to pay for downloading privileges or can you get it for free? I am a bit lost on what to do next.

Thanks again for the info. I was wondering are all the files hosted by rapidshares? If so the only way to get the downloads for free is to wait the allotted ten minute between files to download each file unless it is all in one?

Great time to start on Batman. You should read Batman RIP, then maybe Battle for The Cowl. After reading those you can start on any of the new titles; Batman & Robin, Streets of Gotham or Red Robin.

My DC recommendations:
a. Superman arcs:
1. Superman: All Stars.
2. Superman: Camelot Falls I & II.
3. Superman:Brainiac,
4. Superman: Escape from Bizzaro World.
5. Superman & the Legion of Superheros.
b. Batman arcs: 1. Batman: City of Crime.
2. Batman & Son.
3. Batman: RIP.

And I must suggest Green Lantern: The Sinestro Corps War & Final Crisis.

I am interested in starting to read a new comic seres and am interested in your opinions. I'm interested in some one like a peter parker deal where he is an average teen who falls backward into some powers.
Any recomendations?
