Doesn't look like people still check here, but it's worth a try ;p

Does anyone have any recommendations for non-American comics? I've been reading comics for a while, but noticed the other day that they've all been from the same American publishers. I noticed a sticky in the manga forum (which is Japanese, yes?), so I'll check that out, but does anyone have any favorites from other places? I'd particularly love any UK comics people like, as I know of none, which is terrible seeing as I live here XD

Thanks for any help

My #1 UK comic writer is Paul Grist. Try his Jack Staff comics, or I've just gotten into his Burglar Bill stuff. :)

Now I need a recommendation. For the wife...

I finally got her to read a comic! It was Scott Pilgrim (thank you Michael Cera) and she really enjoyed it, even read all 5 volumes before I did! So I need a recommendation of something similar. She's not really into superheroes or fighting, although bits of fighting are ok. Definately nothing hard-hitting or graphic. Just something fun and light hearted, involving relationship issues.

Strangers in Paradise.

Well written, great art, lot's of complicated relationship issues, little bit of random violence, plenty of humour.

I don't know if I can get her to read a Spidey book... I'll take a look at your suggestion though Spaced when I visit the LCS tomorrow.

Any more suggestions?

A couple more that fit into the fun & light-hearted category (with a little bit of relationship stuff in there): Bone, Liberty Meadows

Hello. Newish to the comic scene.

Am somewhat interested in some of the longer super hero series, such as spiderman or batman, but have found it harder to get to the start of the series or find a copy of them all for the reading.

Am interested to see if anyone has any suggestions for shorter volume ones, with perhaps more pages per volume.

Thanks!

Thor vol 3 went #1-12 then #600 as a sales gimmick to mark a fictitious anniversary issue.

So the numbering goes:

Journey into Mystery #1-125
Thor vol 1 #126-502
Thor vol 2 #1-85
Thor vol 3 #1-12 then #600 onwards.

I'm interested in the darker drawn comics. I'm not really sure how to word it but like Spawn

Any Suggestions?
