I'm catching up with current Marvel at the moment, particularly SHIELD-related comics, and I wondered if the SHIELD helicarrier firing upon innocent prisoners in New Avengers #6 (June 2005)is ever addressed anywhere.

Captain America: You're a murderer, Hill!!
Maria Hill: Stand down, soldier!
Captain America: You're a murderer and I'm going to have your hide for this!!!

I'm dipping into recent (last 20 years!) Marvel comics a bit at random but Maria obviously bounces back from this in later comics but I haven't stumbled across anywhere yet where this action is explained or examined. Maybe I just need to keep reading!

It's been explained that SHIELD was compromised for some time and while Hill's actions were extreme, they were the right ones to make.

After Siege, a 4 issue event, Steve Rogers is in charge of SHIELD and other heroes, Maria Hill now works for him

Thanks for the feedback. It'll take a lot to convince me that murdering innocent and abused captives along with the (hugely-overwhelmed) perpetrators was in anyway excusable but I'll soldier on with my Marvel/SHIELD marathon. I'm honestly amazed if that really has just been swept under the carpet.

Iron Man: Who was behind this "act of war"?
Maria Hill: We're still investigating.
Luke Cage: Yeah, that investigation should work well, with you having killed everyone involved.
