I wasn't really sure how to title this topic specfically but I like lots of good music and etc. But I also like alot of music by pianist like mozarts and beethoven. Like in there own way they rocked. But this is a topic where you can talk about them if you can or something thats if you have appreciation for music like theres. But I had a question whats the name of the song and who did where theres a part that goes dun dun dun dun!! Whats the song title and who played cause I wasn't sure if it was Mozarts or Beethoven.

If it's the one I think you mean, it's Symphony #5 by Beethoven.

Yeah thats it its like one of my fav. symphonies by Beethoven. And you know guys like Mozarts and Beethoven may not be like todays artist but they rocked music in there own way. I am a rocker but these guys are good. Even though these guys are classical what are all your thoughts on the classical music of Beethoven and Mozarts? And for your all info Glenn Danzig has done some orchestra music he released two cds of if.

I don't mind a bit of classical but not for everyday listening. I like it in context. Like in a film soundtrack in which it manages to set the scene.

Personally, I don't think it gets much better than Glenn Gould's performances of Bach. When I listen to classical at all I tend to break out Gould - his skills on the piano are incredible.
I'm also a fan of Arvo Pärt and his choral pieces.

I love classical music. But I enjoy the modern twist to it. I like the string quartet Escala.
They're more modern, but the classical part plays a huge role in their music. It is amazing.

Classical music-wise, my favourites are probably Tchaikovsky and Satie. They just never fail. I could listen to their compositions all day long ... especially Tchaikovsky's Seasons and Satie's Gnossiennes.

i love classical music, though unfortunately im spoiled by modern music and extended periods of instrumental periods become tedious, no matter how dynamic it is. it just sounds half finished and i end up waiting for vocal content.

I haven't really tried much classical but judging from what I've heard so far I must say I'm a Chopin kind of guy. The nocturnes sealed the deal for me

Classical music is actually pretty amazing. I'm a huge fan of Mozart and Vivaldi. Mozart's Jupiter symphony is brilliant.

My favorite will always be Bach. No matter what you listen to, there's something new to find in every listen. The counterpoint is unmatchable. It's not as catchy or easy to grasp as modern music, but the effort you put in will always be rewarded. It can be interpreted in an infinite number of ways, so each person gets something different. Things like his Cantata 106, the Musical Offering (the musical equivalent of a middle finger to Frederick the Great), and the Brandenburg Concertos are some of his best in my opinion.
Beethoven was the bridge from the classical to romantic style. (No, not all "Classical" music is actually classical). The eras go Renaissance (1450-1600) - Baroque (1600-1750)- Classical - Romantic (1750 - 1900) - Modern (1900 - present). They each are marked by different stylistic characteristics. For references, see Palestrina for the Renaissance, Bach for Baroque, Mozart for Classical, Beethoven for Classical/Romantic, Wagner for Romantic, and anyone 20th century for Modern, which varies a lot.
