OK. I have been enjoying this storyline. This issue is a terrific finale(?) - but ...

Spoiler: show
who the heck is that bad(?) guy? I thought he was a Superman mystery character. Has he been appearing in any other titles that I've missed?

I agree. It was a great issue (writing & art). As for the mystery figure, he did the same thing in the Superman title by capturing
Spoiler: show
Doomsday
. Speculation is that he is related to
Spoiler: show
the Watchmen
.

And more specifically he is potentially

Spoiler: show
Ozymandias

Although that might be a little too obvious.

I don't know if you're reading Superman & Action Comics, but he appears quite regularly there.

But yeah, I enjoyed thIs first arc. It was very good, & a fitting "end"

Yes I have been reading and enjoying Superman and Action. An early issue made me wonder if the mystery character was somehow
Spoiler: show
Jorel but that doesn't fir with later appearances.

As for the Batman tale, yes excellent writing and a terrific finale - although

Spoiler: show
it will be interesting to see if Tim stays dead. I both hope so because then his death is more meaningful and hope not because he is a great character. I also wonder where this leaves the future version of him that ended up in Batman Beyond.

Spoiler: show
Tim will be back, no doubt about it as he isn't "dead" just captured. It will probably be Tim that brings Mr Oz to the attention of more than just Superman.

As for the future version of Tim, his timeline doesn't exist. It hasn't since he defeated Brother Eye before being catapulted into the future, which is how Terry McGinnis has been returned to life (as he never went back into the past) so future Tim is a paradox/anomaly thing

Doh! Of course Tim is not dead. I wrote those comments a while after reading the issue and remembered Mr Oz but forgot that he had captured Tim. I guess that speaks to how powerful the "death" writing was.

I guess the return of these "kidnapped characters" is going to be the plot-line of something huge from DC. And do not forget that they have not played the "return of the Watchmen" card yet.

Tied into the blue handprint on New52 Supes grave, it could be that he's a prisoner too.

He did "explode" in a burst of light, after all. Maybe he was snatched just before that happened?
