Superboy was what I was thinking after this weeks issue. He just seemed a little......childish in his talk with Lois.

So I guess that would actually count toward Billy Batson too.

Oh damn!

I wonder if they left a clue last issue saying that the masked superman didn't seem to like capes...

Well issue 16 has turned this up a bit! And looks like we might get somewhere with the whole "Masked Superman" mystery.

I do find it quite funny that the final big reveal (which we'd all kind of figured out already anyway) gets spoiled right on the cover though!

Issue 17 looks good - return to the Constantine thread, more Barda & Emiko as well as that possible reveal!

Are all these Futures End issues coming out in September supposed to tie in with this series?

Some will tie-in but not all, they're just set in the same universe/timeline.

It'll be much like the Villain's Month books. Some of those were Forever Evil lead ins, some were reflecting events in the relevant ongoings and some were just one-shot stories about the featured characters.

Issue 21 finally (kind of) explains the war and how the New 52 Earth ended up where it is! About freaking time!!

Good read too. ;)

How has this series been? I stopped after ish 8 because I couldn't get into it.

What stories are going on and involving which characters?

I read 52 and Countdown. I enjoyed them (52 more than Countdown), but I just couldn't find myself getting into this.

I'm enjoying it still. Can't really say much about which characters are involved without spoilers but you've got threads with Terry McGinnis, Constantine, Superman,Mr Terrific, Earth 2 characters & Deathstroke.

It sort of lagged a little around issues 10 or 11 but it's starting to pick up now (in my opinion)

Six teaser images, which are apparently appearing on the backs of "the next wave of DC books" (according to ComicBookResources anyway), reveal a sneak look at what we could experience in future releases of Futures End.

You can check them out on Nerdist:

Code:

Thoughts contained in Spoilers for those who don't look at the images:

Spoiler: show
Looks like we'll finally get a confrontation between Batman Beyond & Batman (but who is in the Beyond suit?), Superman returning in his Action Comics T-Shirt, Supes & Shazam taking on Brainiac, a human Frankenstein & a female Firestorm.

Oh, and what looks like Terry McGinnis being killed & Tim Drake taking on the Beyond mantle!!

Exciting times!!!

This weeks issue was great! I've been a little up & down with Futures End but really satisfied with this issue.

Spoiler: show
And the June solicitation for Batman Beyond now makes sense - so the Batman Beyond rocketed into an unfamiliar future is actually Red Robin after assuming the mantle from a now deceased Terry.

Awesome. Welcome to the future Tim!

Unfortunately, that does kind of add Batman Beyond to my pull list. Crap. :D

As a whole, this was quite tepid. Strong start, but taken over by too many plotlines and, somehow, not enough space to explore them.

The ending was entirely awful. They ended the book at issue 48, and made me wonder why they didn't end it sooner... I regret reading it. Teaches me for wanting to find out what was in Dragonwing's spoiler...

I was more satisfied with this than I was with Earth 2: Worlds End but yeah, it spent too long treading water in places.

But I remember not being too upset with the end & I've enjoyed the Drake in the future storyline from Batman Beyond (which actually finished the Futures End story, by the way).

Shame that DC are essentially resetting Batman Beyond somehow & bringing Terry back as BB, but hopefully there is a satisfying ending to the current arc - although I don't get that impression from the solicits!

You can't finish a book without giving it an ending... It wasn't Batman Beyond Prologue: Futures End. And the amount of times the final pages said "End", it's no wonder that nobody knew the book had ended - especially since DC had a habit of making 52 issues of everything.

Though I AM reading Batman Beyond... But I'd probably have done so without the 40-odd issues of lead-in.

Yeah that's true! Never actually thought of it like that until now.
