I'm reading the Infinity Crusade, they show Bejamiin Grimm wearing a helmet of sorts. What's the deal with that?

The Thing briefly wore a helmet circa FF #3. Tom DeFalco and Paul Ryan brought it back in FF #374-386 after he was wounded by Wolverine.

Wolverine sliced his face open (yes it can happen) and Ben didn't like how it looked, so he wore the helmet.

Not exactly a high water mark for The World's Greatest Comic Magazine. DeFalco's heart was in the right place during his (seemingly endless) tenure on FF but more often than not I found myself less than pleased with both stories & art (Paul Ryan).

I think the original helmet was so Ben wouldn't scare the rest of the people. (like the stretchy guy or the guy walking around on fire wasn't going to do that already.)

Ben had a helmet briefly in FF #3 I believe that was an homage to that first costume.
