Now that it's in beta and no longer alpha, I wanted to talk about this.

My PC can barely run it, but it's still loads of fun. Now there's a campaign mode, and it loads in less than 10 minutes, I'm having a blast. The crash physics are great, the power ups are familiar to long-time fans and I once won a race by hitting a Pinball Mode barrel, then ping-ponging off of a car to waste it before bouncing into an alley then half a mile into the air.

Also, buying it gets you the original three games as well, so there's that.

It runs like a potato for me too acelister. Framerate drops everywhere.

Who's your favourite murderer/racer atm?

To others:

If you've never played Carmageddon before I kinda wouldn't really recommend it at this stage. It's unoptimized and still needs bugs ironed out. The multiplayer is fun as fug even without the pedestrians but the devs have said they will be added soon.

Fugging pedestrians when will they learn?

I'm still a big fan of Max Damage, though I do really like driving Electric Blue.

And I love seeing the Siamese Dream crash. It brings me a certain amount of joy.

Max Damage is an old favourite of mine as well. EB is too lewd for me. Stig & Volkswerker is my current killing machine. It's very cute.

From Eurogamer:

Gory vehicle smash 'em-up Carmageddon: Reincarnation leaves Steam Early Access and launches proper on 23rd April 2015, developer Stainless has announced.

The release version of the game includes a career mode, which consists of 16 chapters. Each chapter has three or four events, making for a total of 50. There's also multiplayer for up to eight players.

Here are the event types:

Classic Carmageddon
Car Crusher
Fox 'n' Hounds
Ped Chase
Death Race
Checkpoint Stampede

25 vehicles (one is exclusive to Kickstarter backers) and nine maps are available at launch.

What's your current setup right now? Multimonitor?

I'd hold on pulling the trigger on a new card if your sole reason for buying one is this game. Lets see how the devs optimize it to run smoother first. There's quite a ways to go.

Are you thinking NVIDIA or AMD? I've been reading up on the FreeSync and G-Sync debate. I think it could be quite relevant for pc gamers and thus, it could play a role in your decision making process. Goodluck.

The game is still ridiculously fun now matter how you play it.

I have a 512mb GeForce 8800GT. It should be 1GB, as I have two in SLI - but Windows has stopped one of them and I can't get it to work... I've gotten on well with NVIDIA, so I was going to stay with them. I've been recommended this card http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-pali ... vi-d-dl-dp

I only have the one monitor, as I've always been more of a console gamer until last year - I was running on 3GB of RAM from 7 years ago, until I upgraded to 6GB in October. It's DDR2, so damned expensive...

I noticed that the card you linked gives you The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt as a free download. Have you considered a G-Sync monitor to take advantage of the card's features? Playing it at 1080p let alone 1440p with a stable 40-60fps at ultra settings would be glorious. Here's hoping your OC GTX 960 can do it!

I'm happy with my monitor. It's hard enough scraping together the money for a graphics card, let alone upgrading my perfectly good 22-inch monitor.

I totally agree with you. Still use an old Dell monitor as part of my home bemani setup to play Pop'n and SDVX. My portable music player is a nine year old 2nd gen silver ipod nano. Only has 1.7gb storage and till has great battery life after all this time. I can't bear to let it go.

When it comes to older tech, I can get pretty sentimental.
