Ghost #9 starts a new story arc for the series and like it says on the cover is a great jumping on point for new readers. I'd recommend this series for anyone looking for:
Great artwork. Harvey Taliboa manages to get as much detail as he can out of each line without crowding out the panels when a lot of action is going on.
Great story. Elisa is a journalist who was killed for investigating something and got too close to the crime. Now she has returned to Earth and uses her powers to fight Evil. At first she was fighting Demons from Hell and the occasional mugger on the street. But now that her mortal memories have returned all in a flash (she was partially amnesiac) she has decided to take down the biggest crime bosses in Chicago.
The characters. Each character is uniquely vibrant without falling into cliched tropes.
The cover art by Jenny Frisson. Need I say more.

I've been following since #5 (the last good starting point for new readers) and it was good enough I'm looking for the trade with the first four issues.

I can kind of see your confusion here. Both have:
Toughness as a quality and an attitude.
Flowing cape/cloak.
A supernatural angle to the storyline (post-Nocturna)
But I think any comparison is going to favor Ghost (especially post JHW3).

LOL yeah we could blame it on that.

Or we could just blame it on my phone being an arse!

Is that the same Ghost who had a crossover with Cassandra Cain many years ago?
