Anybody else watched "The I.T. Crowd"? It was a British sitcom about some guys in an IT department for a major corporation and their day-to-day dealings with their superiors who were so clueless in one episode they were convinced the internet was a little black box that could be dropped and broken.

There is a frightening parallel between that particular episode and the whole Law vs. Internet piracy thing. The judges, congressmen, lawyers, etc. have no clue at all about computers, the internet, or even GUIs. But ... they get to make the rules the rest of us live by.

And of course one guy gets tangles up in that mess and next thing you know we got "Internet Neutrality" bills, file-sharing regulations that make no sense, and a pile of horse doo-doo.

I want to leave this parting thought to you guys: The U.S. Government, in it's zeal to 'protect' us dumb-fucks from buying records that may have traumatic lyrics, placed a "Warning: Contains Explicit Lyrics" sticker big as you please on Frank Zappa's Jazz From Hell album ... that was a complete instrumental. Yes, there were no lyrics at all on that album (Frank Zappa made many instrumentals in his career). So we can only wonder what the heck the government stooges meant by 'explicit'.

that's the problem: the only way to replace outdated lawmakers is to have them step down willingly

regarding Jazz From Hell,it might have been forward thinking by assuming that if you liked JfH you'll look for Zappa's other albums

then again I might be giving them TOO much credit

I've used Mega a lot since its release, and it's bloody brilliant. Far superior to all the other file-hosting sites out there due to its ease of use, speed, no time limits, and absolutely HUGE storage space per user.

So, it's been a while since Mega appeared. Is anyone using it now?
