It's really sad DnA's cosmic series didn't do that well.
It was the best stuff Marvel had at that time and is far better than most of what they have now.
I hope they switch out Loeb for another writer after a couple issues otherwise I can see the cosmic line being shelved again.

Sad fact is that Loeb + McGuiness sells. Just look at the early numbers for Red Hulk:

#1 - 139,822
#2 - 101,537
#3 - 100,146
#4 - 101,890
#5 - 102,053
#6 - 117,774
#7 - 110,247
#8 - 90,759
#9 - 87,774
#10 - 77,203
#11 - 82,719
#12 - 73,105

Add on to that the Bendis/McNiven team on GotG, Marvel are throwing their money creative teams at these books. Just a shame it's creative teams I don't particularly care for.

is avengers assemble even in same universe as 616. i dont believe it does i believe this new nova might be related to richard rider maybe a little brother or cousin. and this star lord also seems to be different one than peter quill . maybe his son who gets force aged by his old space cruiser ship

Nope, sorry but everything is as it seems.

Avengers Assemble is in 616 continuity, no explanations as to how/where/why it fits yet but it's there.

The new Nova is Sam Alexander, a Jeff Loeb creation & no relation to Rich.

Starlord is still Peter Quill, but it's Bendis version of Peter Quill so take of that what you will.

Looks like Loeb might not be hanging around for too long on Nova after all.

When asked how long Loeb would be on the book, editor Steve Wacker responded:

Steve Wacker wrote:
Not as long as the Hulk. Jeph’s got a pretty important day job now. But you will be happy.

Loeb was on the Red Hulk book for 24 issues.

Not as long as Hulk? He wasn't kidding.

Marvel Comics teenage hero Nova has already rocketed from one end of the galaxy to the other in his brief time in the Marvel U, but starting with July's "Nova" #6 he'll be heading into a new world: a brand new creative team.

As part of their most recent "Next Big Thing" call, the publisher revealed that Zeb Wells and Paco Medina will be taking over the book from its second arc on, taking over for the departing Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness.

I guess the renumbering was an eventuality after all the Marvel NOW #1s, strange choice for the first one though.

Alonso: Lot of big “Nova” news soon, THANOSRULES, including news about his extra-special 100th issue.

This one is due to coincide with Nova #14 btw.

Never been a big Loeb fan and not really enjoying the new Nova at all. DnA was so much better.
