Where can I re-start reading ongoing comic books where i can just jump in and start reading but dont have to go and spend more money buying back issues? I haven't bought any new ongoing comic books for several months due to no money because of no job but now I have a job and will get money so I have the funds to spend on comic books. There are so many comic books its hard for me to say no on how many comic books I wanna read. So I really wanna just stick to it being small and just pick up issues of my faves. Where should I start if I wanna get to reading Batman, Detective Comics, X-Men, The Amazing Spider-man, Fantastic Four, Green Lantern and Captain America? I am more then likely later on when I start buying comic books again decide which series to buy on a monthly basis among those I mentioned but I wanna at least know where I could start and jump right in and not buy any back issues. So what issues should I buy when it comes to those series? Please and Thank you.

seeing as you're currently recovering I would stick to what you know to get your money's worth as opposed to a new series that you may or may not like (don't you start with the "is x any good ?" threads just yet !)

so how many absent months are we talking about ?

OKay, well from that list & bearing in mind you want easy jumping on points then you'd be looking at:

Batman - #21 (start of a new storyline that will run for the next year or so)
Detective Comics - #19 (giant anniversary issue but apparently a very good read)
X-Men - tricky, as always many many X-Men books & all tied in together, probably best one would be All-New X-Men #1 but that follows on heavily from what happened in AvX
Amazing Spider-man - forget it, ASM was cancelled & relaunched as Superior Spider-man, this will not be the Spidey you remember
Fantastic Four - #1 of the Marvel NOW relaunch
Green Lantern - #21 (new creative teams on all the GL books from #21)
Captain America - #1 of the Marvel NOW relaunch

The ones I mentioned aren't new series to me I was buying them before I had no money to buy them. And I haven't bought any new ongoing series since September.
