I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada if anyone loves vinyl and is in this area you should check out these staples:

Rotate This
801 Queen St. W.
Toronto, ON, Canada
M6J 1G1
the hip, the hop, the punk, the jazz, the hardcore, the reggae, the electronic, the indie, the un-indie. No classical or nu-country, however.

Play de Record
357 Yonge Street, Toronto
(416) 586-0380

Where are you from and where do you buy your records?

If anyone is ever on the North Shore and is looking for vinyl, I suggest the electric Fetus. They have old records in the basement and new stuff with the cds. Check if out. Duluth Minnesota Superior St.

where I'm from is another question entirely...

but where I live? the Ol' Smoke itself. good ol' Lahndan Taaaaaahn (or... yeah, London, to the rest o' ya). for the time being, at least.

and I buy my vinyl from several places. I'm principally a 7" collector (you should see my vinyl wall in our flat!), but don't restrict myself, should the mood take me.

there are a few places in Soho - mainly on Berwick St - that I regularly frequent. Sister Ray is perhaps one of the most well known record stores in the UK, and with good reason. but also, the Music & Video Exchange, just down the road, can turn up many a gem. between those two is Reckless Records, although I usually only head there once in a blue moon.

away from Soho, one other place I've dropped the odd dollar is Rough Trade in Brick Lane. there's also a M&V Ex in Greenwich, near the Cutty Sark. used to be one in Camden, too, although I'm not sure if it's still there.

of course, there's also eBay, as well as Discogs.com, for obtaining rarities and hunting down bargains.

but, aye. good ol' London. ^_^
