Only "factual" one that springs to mind is the Age of Bronze series which is a retelling of the Trojan War.

There's plenty of mytholgy or fantasised stuff out there though if that's more like what you're thinking of.

It depends how accurate you need it to be.
Marvel released their adaptation of the The Iliad and Trojan War a few years back. Called Marvel Illustrated I think.

I'm looking for factual(ish) - something my eight year old who has discovered a love of Marvel & DC comics can get to grips with.

I'll take a look at Age of Bronze for starters, but any other recommendations would be much appreciated.

Might want to give Age of Bronze the once over yourself first as it's a Mature Readers book, might not be suitable for an 8 year old.

You could try the Cartoon History of the Universe by Larry Gonick, which includes a humorous view of Greek and Roman history. Sandman #30, "August", by Neil Gaiman and Bryan Talbot was a self-contained issue set in ancient Rome.
