Ok, that doesn't get more serious than that....Actually, I don't really care, coz I don't buy issues every week anyways. I wait for the TPB...but I wasn't really referring to sales or anything like that (although you guys/gals can chime in on this too)...but to the story lines and characters.

I mean...take a look at this:

I mean, seriously? Is that what Nick Fury's face would be just because of budget cuts??

The economy definitely affects the comic industry as a whole, remember it's a hobby collecting not a necessity. Kids can't afford to buy comics anymore, even adults have to pick and chose what they buy due to prices. It's just very sad.

Kids being priced out and storylined out...that is the reason. Make it so children want them and parents can okay them and sales will go up.

Yeah, I mean it sucks. I want to support my local comic book salesman (saleswoman in my case) but it's getting increasingly hard to do so. I work a part-time job after-school and whatever money that doesn't go into rent or so, I get to buy like one issue a month.

i used to buy comics weekly(anywhere from 20-40 bucks) and living on my own i just can't afford it. i've resorted to downloading most comics now since it's free and ultimately limitless for storage.

I came into reading comic books when they were a dollar an issue...now they are 4 dollars an issue...that is insane! I only buy them in the book format now, I have too many money worries to afford the amount of single issues I used to get when I was younger...

It's hard to buy as many books as I used to, 4 bucks a book is just to much

The cost of comics nowadays is outrageous. I have to force myself to only get about 5 comics a month, and pick them up after 2 or three months. It just costs so much all around.

I don't know, it's bad, but also take into account how the economy has gone. Years ago everything was priced differently, and its the same today. I'm not saying that things haven't gotten a bit over the top with pricing, but 2.99-4.00 for a comic isn't as bad as it could be. I'd start getting concerned if it was getting up to $10 a comic.
