I am having issues with the new Spider-Man. Miles just doesn't have the same wit as Parker did. I will give it several more issue before I decide to drop it or not. I am still trying to figure out why the change in characters myself. Does anyone know why they actually did it?

I know they wanted to start fresh with the new Ultimate Comic line, X-men is kind of changing things, Ultimates haven't really done anything big except that Captain America left.

I think with spider man they wanted to start off completely new to mainly get new readers. So a new character was made up and turned into marketing ploy, seems to have worked so far.

Unfortunately when you restart series like this to shed 10 years of material you sort of lose some fans you built up in the hope to get more.

I think they could have done something different instead of what they did mainly make up a new character, but they wanted the Brand name of Spider-man,

Who cares about morales?
C'mon guys, would any of you buy a comic about a boy with a copycat costume and super-strength?
Nope, it's just the spider-man name which is pushing most of readers to keep on reading, hoping to see the return of Peter.
IMHO - > no peter - no spider-man...
This time bendis blew it...

I care about morales, and it looks is if he's building a pretty solid fan base, so ill have to respectfully disagree, Bendis did not blow it.

I would have prefered it if they would have used a supporting character like Flash Thompson or Randy Robertson as the new Spider-man.

I am really looking forward for the new relaunch of spiderman. Although I know its out, I didn't start it yet because I want to finish the first volume before I do start the relaunch. Im sure bendis will do a great job with the story like he did before.

The starting moral changes in him, the need to be adequat to his heritage, what that means to be in this costume and why everyone basicalle did let a little boy die etc. are SO good material to evolve the character , which made him sympatico so far for me.

I hope they keep focussing on the characterdevelopement  .

Ahhh crap! I'm about to start reading Ultimate Spiderman, and now the "ending" is kind of spoiled. Aw well as long as the journey is good, I'll get over the final destination.
(Sorry bad pun)

I like the new series, didnt think I would, the artwork is great, I mean it's a little weird with a copy cat Spidey, but I enjoyed it

Miles Morales was announced as USA today's best new character of 2011!...........I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that they broke the story?lol......In the end tho I would agree with them. :spider:
