Around issue #6 of JLA (Morrison's run), superman appears being blue and has some unique powers.

Anybody knows how this happens? It's something exclusive in JLA or it appears in the superman comics too?

Did a quick search but to no avail.

And something more iirc. He could absorb any form of energy. In a JLA issue he creates a gravitational field.

It happens suddenly in JLA with no explanation.

Ah, the infamous Superman Blue (and later Superman Red/Superman Blue) era.

When he came back to life he was in this form for some reason if I remember correctly. It's the worst thing DC has ever done in history.

Electric Superman was 1000 times worse than what they've done to him with the new 52. (and I hate the new 52 superman so far). There are only 2 points in my life when I've said 'this sucks too much' and stopped reading Superman. The first was Electric Superman, and the 2nd was new 52.

I don't hate it now ... but I did back then. Shows how much my tastes have changed.

Personally I think mullet Superman was worse.

I thought the costume change was tied into the legal battle they were carrying on and that the classic look was being disputed.

Thought I hated it too it wasn't a mullet, they just gave him long hair because it was 'cool' in the 90's.
