I get what your saying, SHIELD. What gets me though is that those movies have had huge followings. Could you really imagine X-Men without Hugh Jackman or The Matrix without Keanu Reeves?

Those actors playing those parts made those movies to me. I probably never would've given The Matrix a glance with midget Cruise or Ewan McGregor or DiCaprio

No I couldn't see Hugh Jackman not being Wolverine or Keanu Reeves not being Neo but thats just cause they are apart of the movie. If Russel Crowe became Wolverine instead or one of the many actors became Neo instead I would think the same way but with that actor.

What If a Comic Movie was made for the true comic fans and not for the masses?

What movie would you like it to be?

I'd like to see Avengers or JLA

Yea I did start this thread and if you wanna know what I would think of if someone else played the characters of either wolverine or neo the answer is I couldn't just cause I am so used to seein Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Keanu Reeves as Neo so I really couldn't see anyone else but them as those characters.

I think that they did the first two X-Men movies well, but the third tried to do too much at once. If they did a movie that straight up more like Ultimate X-Men or like Astonishing, it would be great, but combining them sucks

Personally, I think Woody would really be great as the "blue nude guy" (pun intended)...sorry dunno what his name is....

I would love to have seen Spider-Man that wasn't aimed at the masses.

Don't get me wrong I think they did a good job on Spidey 1 and 2, but there were just too many annoyances in there for me being a fan of the comics, and don't get me started on 3, I'd be here all day.

The question is, would we ever be truly satisfied with what we see on screen?

im guna answer tht with a blunt no, cos at the end of the day the movie companies need to make money n if tht means following a different path than the comics then so be it

You know I wish there was a director who was doing a super hero movie who at the same time pleased the movie company and at the same time he pleases the fans of the movies. Speakinf of a director like that is there even a director who has done a super hero movie who was a fan of the super hero of the movie they made?

He's not a director, but Nicholas Cage was a huge Ghost Rider fan when he did that. And look what happened!

What if Kevin Smith wrote a Daredevil film? Or Green Arrow? He's written the characters before, he's already done a lot of films and he's a huge geek! Sounds good to me.

Mark Steven Johnson is a massive Daredevil & Ghost Rider fan - strike 2 for GR there.

To be honest, I love KS's films and comics, but I don't think he's the right person to write a superhero movie.

He's great with characters and dialogue, but he's not so good in writing the plots themselves IMHO.

And Mark Steven Johnson is a fanboy, but those 2 movies... <_<

He turned DD into The Punisher and the story in both DD and GR were both weak. And Cage was too old to play the GR character.

Thin plots are not good for comic books-turned movies nowdays, and they don't have to. Look at both Batman movies. Iron Man did have a really basic origin story, but it was treated as an actors' movie with lots of FX. The actors not only had a lot of fun (I guess), but they also took it seriously.

When it comes to the success of the Spidey movies, well you got me there. I seem to be one of the very few who didn't like any that much. They're watchable, but just meh...
