You may have heard the hype, you may have seen the trailer, but none of this will ready you for the film that is Kick-Ass. Certainly as i walked into the cinema hall i thought that this will be another film with teenage actors just acting silly and getting drunk a lot and getting beaten up till one decides to be a superhero, but oh no this is much more.

Firstly let me start of by saying the film is specifically targeted at an audience who want to be constantly laughing and they do this with a variety of methods. This is no problem, its just not many films keep me laughing all the way through any more. This was the exception to the rule.

There are some key things to point out to all of you, firstly the writers are absolute geniuses, who would have thought that a 12 year old girl with a potty mouth would make us laugh so much. This film is filled with comic genius, from the rooms filled with all array of guns, to the massive gun fights involving over the top killing.

Story wise this film is not very deep till the half way point where you realise what has actually happened to some of the main characters and this really won't detract from the film at all.

This film is probably one of the best comedies i have seen for a very long time! I strongly recommend it.

I hated the comic... it was shit. Dont like the art. Ask Big Funk if it was comparable.

I liked both. book had the edge, the film lost it for me with some of the changes:

Spoiler: show
The reveal that Red Mist was the son of the gangster, proberly the biggest "why change it?" for me. The jetpack, was a wtf! moment and in a film where there is meant to be a slight bit of reality, kinda jumped the shark. Also didn't like that he got the girl

The jetpack was just plain awesomeness! Don't dis jetpacks. It made no difference that he got the girl. Also i dont kno who red mist is meant to be the son of. Also bazooka FTW!!!

I think that!

Don't open the spoiler if you haven't seen the film or read the comic.

Spoiler: show
The big twist in the comic was when Red Mist was revealed as the son of the boss.I hated the fact that he got the girl because there was a message I got, that real life heroes don't get all the spoils. In the movie, it seemed inappropriate that he saved the day AND got the girl. Too cliche.

Thats what I think:

Spoiler: show
The fact that Big Daddy was a real cop instead of a fake wanna be hero is what I thought sucked about the movie. The rest of the stuff they changed did not suprised me all that much. Well maybe the jetpack a little bit but that kinda made it more like the comic than anything.
