NRS did a fantastic job on the latest Mortal Kombat. They can deliver.
Injustice looks really good. Interesting in both story and gameplay.

The people at Netherrealm studios are the same people that made MK before Midway went bust, its still lead by MK creator Ed boon. Also, beat-em-up is usually used to discribe a game like Double Dragon or the X-Men arcade game. MK is a fighting game.

I loved the MK reboot, and I love the DC comics characters. Even if they have bad designs, I'm excited.

While the MK fight engine is flawed it's still fun a lot of time. I'm looking forward to the game. Plus I spend a lot of time watching the videos, and they look great. Love the interactive backgrounds.

I got Injustice: Gods Among Us yesterday. Its awesome. If you're a superhero fan you'll probably love it (unless you don't like fighting games, obviously). I can't speak from a hardcore fighting fan's perspective, but as a very casual fighting game fan, I think the gameplay is great. I really enjoyed Mortal Kombat, and this is almost the same, although it has a few changes. The levels are great, the enviromental interaction is awesome and knocking people into different parts of various stages is really cool. I've tried out only about a fourth of the characters (I'm trying to pace myself with it, although I'm also playing story mode, which means I'll be trying out a lot of people that way) but they've all been unique and fun. One or two have weird button commands (theres one button command atleast two people have that loooks like a similar street fighter command that shouldn't be that hard to do, since I can do it in SFIV, but its much less forgiving and harder to pull off in this for some reason) but overall its fairly easy to do the moves (although that doesn't mean the game has no depth, it has a l;ot of combos and seems more focused on that then MK, although for a casual player like me its not something you have to learn about to play or anything). The super move for each character does get a bit overdone, but its not a huge deal.

The story mode so far is great. It has a cool story with great voice acting and cutscenes, a few interesting button press almost quicktime events sometimes, and interesting match ups. The STAR LABS mode looks big, but it can be a bit difficult. There are a bunch of different variations of arcade mode, like heroes only, villains only, poison (where you are losing health) and more that need to be unlocked (although you only get endings in classic mode for some reason, they're in the same style as MK's endings, and the two I've seen were decent). It has one feature that all the big fighting games I've played (SF IV, MK, SCIV, MvC3) have been missing: playing a single match in one player. You can play a single battle where you choose yourself, your opponent, and the arena. This doesn't sound like much, but almost no fighting games seem to do this, and expect you to be happy with only using practice mode to simulate something like this. Its a small thing, but I appreciate it. Overall, if you like DC superheroes, or the fighting in MK (minus the gore, obviosuly) I'd definately reccomend this. I can't speak for hardcore fighting fans, but again, if you like Dc heroes or MK's play style, I think you'll like this game.
