Wouldn't worry about it if the stories in today's papers are true.

Grant is supposed to be planning to field a bunch of reserves for the rest of the month & give the first team a break to prepare for the FA Cup match.

just to say, given that he got a mention - Bullard is a legend.

Spoiler: show

also, I was pleased when Altidore got a chance to show himself off in the Prem. always had a liking for him. and there's a part of me that always likes to see US players having a chance abroad. particularly in the English league system, natch.

course, far as my own boys go, in that respect... that just extended to Eddie 'cow's arse with a banjo' Johnson.

<_<

to keep this on topic, though - such is the nature of managing at the 'top level'. managers, as much as they may have done with their respective club in the past, have a very slim time frame within which to give the folk on the board what they want, these days.

been that way for a while, and it's only getting more and more prevalent with the big money 'investors' so heavily involved in the game nowadays. business is business, after all.

Eddie Johnson was a Hull City Legend on one of my old football manager games. I was disappointed to see he actually wasn't any good when he joined Fulham.

There was an interview with the chairman on 5Live last night and apparently Phil Brown is still Hull manager!

He said that Brown was still under contract with the club and even admitted that he may return as manager next season.

I know they're still paying him as he is on gardening leave - but hows that going to work, is Dowie on a very short term contract?

Dowie's only there until the end of the season and he's not actually the manager. His official title is "Temporary Football Management Consultant".

I see. If I'd known that I would have put my name forward for the job - I'd be cheaper and the results wouldn't be that different

If we'd waited another day we could have got Gary Johnson.

Seeing the way Burnley played yesterday gives me hope for next week saying that they'll probably beat us.

Seems i was right about the Burnley game sadly :(

We have been even poorer since Dowie came to the club. We may have not much better under Brown but i have no doubts he would have been able to sneak us at least one point out of the Portsmouth and Burnley games which would have put us in a better situation.

Dowie OUT Brown IN

I don't know, Brown's record is just as crap as Dowie's. It's not the managers imo, it's the players.

Goddammit...

Pissed off with the crowd for booing Bullard so much, probably their fault he missed the penalty.

Championship here we come.
