Hey Everyone,

I am looking for some German music. Doesn't really matter what genre, as I listen to everything.

Anyone got anything?

I already got alot of Rammstein, so you can leave them out, unless you have like the full discography.

Always been interested in different cultures. Ask anyone I work with, and they will tell you that my music interests cover a very wide area. I listen to everything from rock and rap to African Tribal music.

I guess I am just a music freak...

Besides, most of my ancestors are from Germany and Eastern European countries, so I have always had a fascination, as that was what I was exposed to when I was younger.

Just listened to both. I think I have found a new favorite pop-rock band.

How did you hear about them?

yay!

someone used one of their songs (Dieses Lieben, to be precise) on a youtube vid I happened to come across. very much liking what I'd heard, I googled the lyrics to find out who it was, and the rest, as they say, is history.

indeed? neat. my own lineage on my mom's side is German. hence my own love for the country, language etc.

sprechen Sie Deutsches, überhaupt?

Nein, ich nicht...

I actually don't speak any german or dutch. Unfortunately the only languages I currently speak are english, and bad english. I have the Rosetta Stone software and language packs, but haven't found time to use them yet.

Rosetta Stone is awesome. although I really, really need to pick up on my lessons. haven't done a thing since I moved. >_>

if you've any desire to learn, though, give it a go, dude. best language tutor out there.

getting back to the original topic, I was reminded of another German-flavoured band who are high on my personal favourites list.

I say 'German-flavoured', because, well... while the act is German, the artists behind it are... a little less so, shall we say.

still! Die Roten Punkte are nothing short of fantastic. they're essentially a spoof act, hugely entertaining, with some very decent tunes. I had the pleasure of working with them in the summer, and it was easily the finest time I had in my old job.

Those were CRAZY!!!!!

Got a good laugh out of them though. The songs were pretty catchy, but it was the dress of the band that made me laugh.

Thanks Envy!

This is my jam!

They call themselves the best band in the world and most times they deserve that title! This one is one of my absolute favorites!

Die Toten Hosen in unplugged format is just beautiful!

This one gives a nice view of Berlin!

I hope you like this and I will gladly show you more :D

Die Aertzte are great. "Manner sind schweine" is a good song. Toten Hosen good too. if you want german hip hop/rap. Die Fantastischen Vier (fantastic four) are good. if you go old school german look up herbert groenmeyyer. but he's more of a folk song artist, kinda.

Tankard - The Morning After

I love you people <3

My german class has been playing classics of german music (like classical classic, not like classic rock) and now I get to find modern stuff!

Although, Erlkonig will always have a special place in my heart.
