in reference to which order to watch.

the movie is essentially a two hour finale for the series.

I'm new to this site, and I came to this section looking for something Firefly oriented, and here it is, the first thing I saw.
It made me happier than you know.
Firefly and it's related material is/are some of the greatest pieces of fictions I've watched/read. Whedon is the man.

I just finished the Firefly series and The movie right after. Definitely a great show I missed when it ran originally (COmpletely mixed up and out of order from what I've read).

Any suggestions on where to start with the comics?

Start with the 3 issue minis Better Days and then Those Left Behind, they both take place between the series and the film. Then the shorts/one shots The Other Half, Float Out and Downtime, before finishing with The Shepherd's Tale.

I've never watched it.
But if it's so good, I'd like to give it a try... but only if Season 1 didn't end in a cliffhanger that will never be resolved.

Can someone tell me if that is the case... or not?
[you will be rewarded for your kindness... in the next life]
TIA

I guess my post (a question) got trashed.

MOD: Merged - nope, we're just still having authorisation issues.

Hopefully with the success of The Avengers maybe Joss will get to do a sequel to Serenity!

Firefly didn't end on a cliffhanger. I mean, there were some plot elements that were never finished, but the only one that really matters isn't one that really could be concluded by 13 episodes and a movie, but its not a huge deal. Its just what the final fate of a certain character ends up being, but the series (and movie) end with it not really needing to be resolved. Firefly is a must watch show, and Serenity is a great movie.

Speaking of Serenity, I just ordered the collector's edition DVD from Amazon. I've had the Firefly complete series for over a year, but I didn't have Serenity (I've seen it a bunch of times, though). I'm glad to finally own the movie, especially the collector's edition for a little over $8 with shipping.

I been watching Firefly on netflix and I am halfway through the series so far and so far it is interesting. I think a fav. episode of mine was when Christina Hendrick's guest starred on it.

Anything with Christina Hendricks in is my favourite.

Back on topic, has anyone seen the anniversary thing called Brownshirts Unite ? Is it worth watching or a piece of fluff ?

Fox has killed some really good shows (Terminator SCC and Arrested Development come to mind) but killing firefly always the one that angered me the most!

Fox killing shoes doesn't hold a candle to the number of great shows NBC has axed on a whim, Heroes and The Pretender being 2 of the best shows to get canned out of the blue

Been re-watching this with my wife. Her first viewing. We're taking it an episode or two per day, mainly because I don't want to binge it...

Favourite line is definitely "By my pretty floral bonnet, I will end you."

I introduced my friend to Firefly over the summer and he hated me for it. He fell in love with it and hated that there was only one season haha
