I thought it was pretty boring that
Spoiler: show
Thor actually died. I mean, they'd been prophesying that all series, so when it actually happens it has no weight to it. You knew it was coming, so it was just dull. You know he'll back within a couple of months too.

Finale was not very good, I think Marvel is better at building momentum than wrapping things up, a better and longer confrontation between The Mighty and The Worthy was maybe the thing i was expecting the most and issue 07 did not deliver and the many epilogues at the end felt very cheap. i would not call the worst in recent times (Chaos War comes to mind) but it certainly did not leave a good feeling.

Yeah, it seemed a bit rushed, and the ending wasn't as good as it could have been. Thor "dying" was also about 3 panels, which is weird. Well, I'm just glad its over. This event went on way too long.

Yeah, Marvel is getting horrible with their events. DC was bad about it too (not at Marvel's level, but still bad), but it looks like with the new 52, there might actually be a long period without an event, which would be awesome. The last Marvel event I really liked was Civil War. Their last few events have just dragged on, and Fear Itself seems like its been going forever.

I would be happy if Marvel stayed "event-free" for a while.. give us some time to rest..

Also, on subject, I agree on a rushed, very unimpressive ending to a medicore event..

The only thing ,that wasnt disappointing in the last issue was the scene ,where Cap wields the hammer.

The rest was utter bullox.

And may i mention, that we did get nothing about the backstory of the Serpent and Odin, but this little clip of them.

Or that , which Crowlord said aswell, Thor had to have this end without any surprise, no finesse , no real story at all.

Enemy ->fight->too strong-> get better weapons-> end

Any unanswered questions will likely be answered in the 6-month long The Fearless maxi-series, though.

You know, like all good events.

Telling you things... AFTER the event...

You and me both, but you just know it ain't gonna happen. They're already starting to build for the big Avengers/X-Men thing next year.

And also, so Thor's dead but he's not dead then:

• TANARUS VS. HEIMDALL!
• THOR struggles to free himself before the DEMOGORGE consumes him and a starship full of other fallen gods!
• What did Loki and the Surfer find in the desert and how can it help a god no one can remember?

It seems everytime a god (thor\hercules) dies, it happens in a different way.. and of course its only temporary (but that's true for all comic characters..) I wonder how come Odin (who died about 5 times) doesn't know this and takes thor's death so badly..

Does anyone know if this "event" sold well? I hope it didn't, maybe next time they'll work harder on a plot, and give you ANY emotinal impact in the story..

I thought there were some nice wee bits on the side in "home front", but the main story? Meh with an atrociously rushed ending. Plus killing off Bucky cap was a big mistake given his Captain America run was quality.

So there was this event called Fear Itself, right? And in one of the issues a popular character died a fairly limp and meaningless death, right?

Well guess what...

That whole "I must seem dead to the world so I can work in secret" set up screams at me like it's the idea behind a 70s/80s TV show but I can't put my finger on it. Anyone?

Dammit I think I know the one you mean, but I can't quite get it to hold in my head...bah...it will come to me eventually!

Yeah, to be fair I was never really convinced he was dead, but must say it is a bit cold that Black Widow wasn't let in on the secret being as how she excels at that sort of thing and they were very close indeed.

I didn't get 7.1 yet, won't until next week, but so in the "epilogue pt 1" issue they already wash away or erase one of the biggest or most important things out of the event, I don't get it at all. I am very happy he is alive and he is getting his own comic series, but then issue 3 shouldn't have happened at all, reminds me a lot of the civil war, so a few months/year later steve rogers is back, the initiative is basically done, so what was the lasting effect from this whole story, basically nothing. they need to leave these stupid "events" alone, or write something meaningful.
