Picked up the new Deadpool game, and I gotta say -

Aside from how 'forced' the jokes feel (and how the voices in deadpool's head are so very different from the ones I've given them over the years), the game is just barely mentionable.

I do like the blend between gun- and sword-fighting, but I feel the mechanics are a bit choppy, and hard to control. I can't tell if it's a game that responds to button-mashing, or requires a more methodical approach (like Ninja Gaiden) for the combo-making. Given the concept of the game, I'm inclined to believe that there's almost nothing methodical about it...but, at the same time - when trying the listed combo button sequences amidst a sea of ■-mashing, there's a significant delay. Also, I've yet to successfully integrate R1 into any combo, so I get the feeling that the commands spool, and the game attempts to execute them all in order, rather than dismiss the repetitive button-pressing during the action-sequence, between commands.

Fortunately, though - I'm a big fan of mindless, wholesale slaughter. So...who knows? This game might prove to be unmatched in replay value for that very fact. Or...I could shut it off half way through and it goes down as another forgotten title in my library. *shrug*

Anyone remember the old Snes X-Men game? It was ultra hard but I loved the graphics and how it was played. Always chose Cyclops (optic blast!) but the real threat was old Wolverine....he was the best no doubt. :wolverine:

For me it's easily the Arkham Games and I am sure if rocksteady got some licenses they could propably make awesome games for other heroes.

Spider-Man 2 for the ps2 was one of the games of my childhood but since I was really young when I played it I like to remember it without saying its amazing or something just because I can not judge that before playing it again.

Injustice gave me hours of fun but as with all fighting games I don't see why I should play it for too long.

Pretty much nailed it right here. Those were 2 of the greatest games ever.

The Arkham games are number 1 and shall forever stand up top its throne but Spider-man 2 the video game (2004) is a close second.

Maybe it is not so much comic-related, but the Marvel VS Capcom mash-ups are simply great! :D
Now you can play them with the MAME, but I rememebr hours and hours spent on them on a PS1... so much fun! :goblin:
