Stole this idea from another thread from Hancock but thought it sounded like a good idea. Everybody give me a list of their top 5 Graphic Novels of all time (a story arc or mini-series that's been collected into a TPB also counts). After enough people have put in their favourites I'll compile a list of the top 10 or whatever.

Here's mine to kick it off (in no particular order):

Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes
Watchmen
We3
Spider-Man: Blue
The Dark Knight Returns

Hmmmm....well, also in no particular order:

Civil War by Mark Millar (Wanted is cool too! but I go with his mainstream Marvel event)

Jeph Loeb's Batman: Hush(instead of The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller)
or Spider-Man Blue (which I both liked, but not all-time)

Brian K Vaughan's
Pride of Baghdad
(in lieu of We3)
&
and BKV's Y the Last Man, of course

and, if ever he gets to finish it, Grant Morrison's All-Star Superman, but until then...

I gotta add a Warren Ellis here...so I say Black Summer to round off my top 5 for now....

a close sixth..would be Rising Stars by J Michael Straczynski..which I'm about to finish..

Not entirely sure AHOV counts as a graphic novel but I'll put it forward anyway.

Don't you mean THE Watchmen?

It's that important. I'll also add V for Vendetta.

It was a Funk parody. Unless he meant a Canadian rock band when he did his post.

What about Black Summer? We should start a list with completed Series in that ultra violent style.

Never heard of that...Flowers for Rhino huh?? Do they play "touch the flower?"
Is it anywhere here?

I've also hear that Joe Straczynski is an essential Amazing Spider-Man writer...
