I haven't read any spiderman since the first arc with anti-venom...but depending on whether spiderman using the mechanical web launchers or he produces it himself naturally:

Can spiderman spin webbing out of his pennis?

Spiders shoot web out of their butt.whoever thought of organic webs was probably the same idiot who came up with Wolverine‘s claws.

what's wrong with the claws?

although it would be cool if he had claws coming out of his feet or knees, so he'll totally destroy people by kicking them.

X-23 got dibs on the claw feet. :D

my problem with the claws is that they shouldn't be able to fit inside his hands

i thought they just went into his forearms? he wouldn't be able to bend his wrists that way though, unless he is constantly breaking his bones and healing

Found this on the John Byrne forum, in there lies the answers you seek...or perhaps even more questions.

It's things like this that make me hate the idea of this "First X-Men" book coming out... Logan, in continuity, had no claws until the adamantium was put in him. But retconning can be a bizitch.

On the same note, Peter Parker had organic webs after he died (as a giant spider), then he died again (as a human) and gained all sorts of cool features, like being able to stick things to his body not just his hands and feet, enhanced senses, giant claws that came out of nowhere... Then he suddenly just had organic webs, until a deal with Mephisto made them... Heal up? He still remembers HAVING them, as shown in Spider Island - he told his then-girlfriend that she should eat starchy foods to replenish the webbing.

I agree they were stupid - tying into the movie continuity in an issue of Spectacular Spider-Man, not even Amazing - but it wouldn't make sense to have him fart out webs. Maybe in the XXX Parody.

Though farting webs could be a real life saver is his hands were tied/cuffed or otherwise inaccessible. Of course it would make for a rather odd looking costume.

Although actually spiders do generate webs from the rear of their bodies don't they?

That's amazing! I've never read any of that stuff and it lines up with what I remember about UCX when it was coming out... Cool, thanks for posting that link!

I like to think that spider-man always produced webbing from above his butt but it functioned like a spiders. So instead of shooting it just slowly comes out if he pulls on it.

Sometimes he has a scary dream or something and he wakes up in a cold sweat and finds that he's webbed himself and needs to change his pants.
