Didn't see a thread on this so i thought I would make one. I've always liked the character of DD just never really read any of his stories up until Mark Waid relaunched the book, and personally I think its one of the best books Marvel publishes right now next to Venom, & Uncanny X-Force, but like I said that's just the opinion of someone who is new to DD. So Id like to hear you guys thoughts on the series & how does it stack up to previous DD tales?

It's ok so far. Waid is a one trick pony imo.

Enjoying it so far but something about it seems a bit off. Maybe I'm just not used to a happy, shiny DD.

I just started reading the Frank Miller run, I loved "The Man Without Fear" that was great stuff.

Waid is doing some great stuff, but more importantly Paolo Rivera and Marcos Martin are straight up knocking it out of the park. There are so few mainstream titles being published I'd feel comfortable handing a kid, Daredevil is surprisingly one of them.

The entire Bendis run is just awesome. I feel that I was lucky enough to come into the character when the trades were already available. That was hard on my wallet, but great reading. I won't give anything away, but DD was definitely put through his paces, both mentally and physically. Can't recommend enough. Matt Murdock is my favorite Marvel character hands down.

I loved when Alex Maleev was drawing Daredevil his art made me like Daredevil which I never had before. The current writer and artist has made me not like him anymore, he feels like a watered down version of the Daredevil I grew to love.

Exactly! Maleev's style fit the daredevil world perfectly. Kinda cheesy but it seemed very poetic/dramatic. Definitely more grown up dark. Loved it.

That cover to issue #12 is fantastic. I have to get into the Waid/Riveria run. Was a big fan of Millar`s Daredevil back in the day. Born Again is probably in my top 5 fiction stories of any medium.

You know why I enjoy this run on DD more than any other that's been published in about the last ten years? He's getting to win a little bit. We were so conditioned to constantly seeing him beaten down and distraught and the book had this sense of overwhelming hoplesness and became depressing to read.
