So after another X-family resurrection (All-New X-Men #23 spoiler, see below), O5 Cyclops is getting his own ongoing series by Greg Rucka & Russell Dauterman.

I'm usually all over anything with Rucka's name on it but I just can't get even conjure up the slightest bit of interest for this.

Did anyone have this book on their fantasy wish list?

Spoiler: show
Corsair, Cyclops's father, wasn't really dead after all. Cue male-bonding sci-fi "road" trip.

Same here as far as Rucka is concerned (fanboy from way back) but nothing else interests me - character, concept, never heard of the artist.

I see. The artist did some work on a book called "Suburbia" it was pretty decent art. Speaking of Ruka I dont think nearly enought people are paying attention to Lazarus.

Agree about Lazarus, it's a quality book. It's still hitting the 20k+ mark a month which is fine for a creator owned Image title.

While I'm glad that he's back at Marvel' I had read an interview he did right before he ended his run on Punisher that made it seem like they weren't on the best terms creatively.

Don't really care about the character, but anything by Rucka is good news!

I'm a Cyclops fan so I'm intending to read this title. Not sure on premise though.

The fact that Cyclops is anyone's favourite character baffles me. What is it about him that appeals to you?

Drain...I kind of agree with you. He has gotten so popular the past few years and I cant understand why. What do I know....I dont see the appeal in Deadpool either.

In fairness though Marvel over saturated their titles with Deadpool and Logan which cheapened them a bit or made them cliche.

I loved DP back around the Palmotti Cruel Summer arc. They just sorta started doing DP stuff for the sake of it rather than coming up with an actual story to tell.

Personally I think Cyke has had a really interesting character arc, starting from do-good boy scout, to destroying his marriage by having a psychic affair with Emma Frost, than becoming the face & leader of the mutant race, and now terrorist and murderer of his mentor and father figure. Thats just glossing over his character really but I think he's a really good character.

Flicking through my father's back issues of the original X-Men run when I was a kid he was the best of the bunch. Cool looking powers, team leader, had the hot girlfriend. Of the bunch he was the one that seven year old me liked best, and that stuck.
Then through the 90's cartoon era, when I started collecting the comics myself, again he stood out to me. He was the stalwart leader for the Blue Team and I liked that. Things got more storied after the Morrison run but Whedon levelled things out nicely. Then M-Day and the character trajectory from there has been interesting, as batmanandrobin said, and whilst not one I necessarily think was true to the character it has kept me on Team Cyclops through Schism and beyond.

Summary of the 90's cartoon in dialogue:
"JEEEEAAAN!" "SCOTT!" "Bub." "JEEEAAANN!" "Assassin! You're the one I was sent here to kill!" "Snikt!" "JEEEAAANNNN!!" "Assassin!" "JEAN!"

Yes, three of those are Cyclops screaming about his girlfriend/wife. The last one was Wolverine... I loved the cartoon, but man was it grating at times...

Definitely not on my wishlist. Never cared for Cyclops much.
But if they manage to write a good story, then yeah, I'll check in. ;)
