Seeing the Cover of the Week post prompted me into this.
Think it would be nice to get peoples review and thoughts on their favourite book of the week.

For my nomination I would like to go with Weapon X #10 - now I usually can't stand Wolverine, over used, especially in the '90's when I gave up on Marvel, one dimensional and basically just annoying.
However I picked up the Insane in the Brain storyline, enjoyed it (didn't like how he got out of his pickle though) and so I had a look at #10 and I'm glad I did.
Smith’s art was excellent, reminded me of Strenko's work on Nick Fury and for once I got to see a more human Wolvie, plus there were some truly humorous moments in the book. As Siege/Dark Reign and Blackest Night roll on, this was a welcome distraction.
If anyone can recommend any other books written by Jason Aaron, let me know I'd like to check them out.

Mine would be Siege Embedded #2. I think I like this title more than the main Siege title. Ben Urich is one of my favourite 'background characters' and I think Marvel use him really well alongside Event comics. The dialogue between him, Will and Volstagg is brilliant; witty but not over the top like Spidey's often can be. His journalistic nature allows us to learn what people are thinking and feeling whilst the Siege of Asgard is going on, which is a really nice touch and makes everything feel more like it can fit into the real world.

Excellent.

I liked Justice Society of America Annual #2. Confrontation between the JSA and JSA All Stars, and

Spoiler: show
Magog kicked out of the All Stars. I've never liked him anyway.

American Eagle #1 (reprinted in Marvel Assistant-Sized Spectacular #1)
Black Panther (2005 series, v4?) #39-41 (See Wakanda and Die)
Dark Reign: the List Wolverine #1
Dark X-Men: the Beginning #3 (Get Mystique(Slight Return))
Deadpool Team-Up #900 (Close Encounters of the @*#$ed-Up Kind)
Ghost Rider v5 20-35
Hellblazer #245-6 (Newcastle Calling)
Immortal Weapons #1
Joker's Asylum: Penguin #1
The Other Side #1-5
Ripclaw Pilot Season #1
Wolverine #175 (1988 series, v2?)
Wolverine (2003 series, v3?) #56(the Man in the Pit), #62-65(Get Mystique), #73-74(A Mile in my Moccasins)
Wolverine: Weapon X #1-5(the Adamantium Men)
Wolverine: Manifest Destiny #1-4
X-Force Special: Ain't No Dog #1

He's currently telling the origin of the Kingpin in Punisher Max v2 and also writing Ghost Riders: Heavens on Fire.

i'm with my man mutie on this one...
Siege #2 was just pure awesomeness, i'm going to quote from a site i forgot the name,
Quote:
If the first issue of Siege didn't make it clear that this was an event that would shoot first and ask questions later, then issue two drives that point home with the power of a million exploding suns.
so yeah...
it's awesome. Although some websites (comicbookrevolution.net) says otherwise, i still think this event will be awesme

For the week of 2/10 I think that REBELS #13 was the comic of the week. Vril Dox is as cunning as ever, as is his son. And then there's
Spoiler: show
Despero finally getting a body back
and with that I'm anxiously awaiting #14 for the big Starro fight.

For the week of 2/24, Green Arrow/Black Canary #30 was great. Green Arrow had became a black arrow, and

Spoiler: show
They tried to kill him, and he wanted them too so that he wouldn't kill them, but his body kept regenerating. I didn't know that the Black Lanterns's that weren't really dead could regenerate like the dead ones could.

First Wave #2 - really enjoying this, hope it keeps it up to the end. Been disappointed too many times with some weak conclusions to arcs recently.

Honourable mention to Justice League: Generation Lost - mainly due to the conclusion of the first issue, good set up, afraid their feck it up though

Superman / Batman # 72. It is written by Levitz with some unbelievable art by Ordway. I would buy this comic just because of the amazing art alone.
