The upcoming sequel to Captain America: The First Avenger and if you know your Marvel then this movie will be about the return of Bucky Barnes as The Winter Soldier. Thoughts on this movie in the making and how they will have The Winter Solider for this film?

Personally, I'm kind of worried. I think they're jumping to Winter Soldier too soon. If I were in charge I'd save all that for a third movie. Bucky was one of the few comic characters who "stayed dead" until of course they brought him back, so I think him only being "dead" for like 40 minutes of screen time is just too soon. But maybe that's just me.

Technically isn't he presumed dead for almost 70s years so technically he will have been gone for that amount of time.

Yeah, but it wouldn't be that long to Cap. To Cap, Bucky just recently died. I can see why they're going with the Winter Soldier stuff since its some of the bigger more modern day stuff, but I just wish they'd hold off a little bit. Revealing that Bucky's still alive would be actually be a great cliffhanger ending to lead into a third Captain America movie.

Yeah, I'm thinking this would have been a better 3rd movie too. Second film should be used to firmly set CA as a modern era hero then you bring back the past tragedy to haunt him.

Someone mentioned that having Winter Soldier come in would be too quick, but the question is what would be the second movie be about if it weren't ? (one that would appeal to a mass audience that probably haven't followed the comics). I'm struggling to find a "different" storyline.

There's plenty of possibilities that could be ripped from comics storylines (or maybe something original but I know I might be pushing it a bit there as there'd be no graphic novel sales crossover).

- an Arnim Zola arc (genetic manipulation is somewhat of a hot topic)
- a Hatemonger arc (social/racial issues are always relevant)
- The Sleepers (a bit out there but would tie-in to the first movie & be a sound action movie premise)

MODOK is a pretty popular fella nowadays... I think he could be a cool villain for Cap to battle...

I figured the next movie would be about Zola. What's better than a Nazi scientist in a robot body?

Falcon will be appearing in this one he's been cast already.

MTV News wrote:
"The Hurt Locker" actor Anthony Mackie stars in the "Cap" sequel as Falcon, and he recently spoke with MTV News about why he's so proud to take on the iconic role.

"It's amazing," he said. "The biggest part of it is, I think kids for so long have been looking for a role model or someone to look up to. I feel like this being truly the first African American superhero, being introduced in this movie and in this way, I feel like it's going to be great."

As for the film's directors Joe and Anthony Russo, Mackie said, "The Russo brothers are great. They're very funny guys and they're great when it comes to storytelling. I'm interested in how it's going to turn out."

Mackie also said that he's looking forward to putting his suit on, though he still isn't sure what he's going to look like when the film starts shooting.

"Marvel is really weird, because they don't let you look at the script. They're like, 'Listen, we brought back Robert Downey Jr., so you might want to be down with us,'" he laughed. "But there's going to be a lot of Anthony in a tight suit kicking ass. Everybody wanted me in spandex, and now you've got it — hours of it!"

Pure speculation but this one is doing the rounds:

Empire Online wrote:
Though this remains one for the Rumour Files until the final decision is made, The Grey’s Frank Grillo has hit Twitter to drop a hint that he has tested for a role in a Marvel film. He followed that up with one about Marvel fans with #bones and then radio host / comedian Matthew Aaron Show added fuel to the fire, saying that Grillo is close to scoring the role of Crossbones, one of the villains in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

With Joe and Anthony Russo set to start directing the movie in March, casting is naturally in full swing. Grillo certainly seems to fit the physical type for Crossbones, who is often seen in the comics as a henchman of Red Skull and has appeared in Cap’s titles in stories alongside Falcon (who will be portrayed in the film by Anthony Mackie) and Winter Soldier (possibly Sebastian Stan, since Bucky Barnes becomes the Soldier).

Confirmed details are scarce from Marvel themselves, though apparently the film will feature two powerful male villains. Josh Holloway and Game Of Thrones’ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau have also been mentioned as possible candidates, so we’ll have to wait and see who – if any of them – gets chosen.
