Former wrestler Buff Bagwell was in a car accident on Monday

This on Yahoo News:

Quote:
Former WCW wrestler Buff Bagwell is in intensive care after suffering a broken neck in an accident with his Jeep. Bagwell, 42, may have suffered a seizure before the accident which left him with several broken bones in and above his neck. Buff Bagwell reportedly has shown signs of slight movement in his extremities since the accident.

and this was a bit of an update/reflection on his career:

Quote:
Buff Bagwell's accident, which happened on Monday, may have been caused by a sudden change in his medication. This according to his wife. Buff Bagwell's near fatal accident caused severe injuries to the former WCW multi time champion. In reports published by TMZ.com, Buff's wife called emergency 911 after Bagwell called her and informed her that he was about to have a seizure. The wife informed 911 operators that the star had been cutting back on medications and he is on an antibiotic.

Marc "Buff" Bagwell started his wrestling career in 1991, and was an active member of the independent wrestling scene when the crash happened on Monday. Throughout his career, Bagwell has played a part in many memorable moments. Here is a list of Buff Bagwell's three most memorable wrestling moments.

The Broken Neck

Before Bagwell broke his neck in the car accident, he had previously broken it in a wrestling match against Rick Steiner. The two enemies were wrestling on a live episode of WCW Monday Nitro in 1998 when Steiner botched a bulldog headlock maneuver. As Steiner landed, Bagwell's head slipped out and he landed face first against Steiner's broad back. Bagwell received treatment for the injury and returned later in the year.

Monday Night Raw

After WCW was purchased by Vince McMahon, much of the roster was left without a job. Bagwell was one of the lucky ones, as his contract was picked up by World Wrestling Entertainment. Soon after however, Bagwell was thrust into the main event spotlight of the highly touted WWE Monday Night Raw. Matched up against Booker T, the match should have went smoothly. But the stars were not aligned for Bagwell that night, as he and Booker put together a devastating match. The bout was universally accepted as horrible. On top of embrassing match, Bagwell was well known for his broad backstage ego. This caused WWE to fire Bagwell shortly after his arrival.

Mommy on a Pole

In one of the most infamous moments in wrestling, Buff Bagwell's mom took center stage during an angle with the late Chris Kanyon. From the same guys that brought you "David Arquette; Heavyweight Champion," the WCW creative team also produced the classic "Judy Bagwell on a Pole" match. The match was meant to be an inside joke among executives, as Bagwell was known as a mommys boy. Unfortunately, the storyline was character assassination and the superstar was never able to live it down.

The near fatal accident comes almost one year after wrestling legend "Macho Man" Randy Savage died in a similar single vehicle car wreck. An autopsy later revealed the former two time WWE Heavyweight Champion suffered a massive heart attack before the crash. Though Buff Bagwell is not completely through the storm, it looks as though he will live to fight another day.

Never really a fan of the guy but harsh none the less. And a drug related seizure? The common cause again.
