For me there is a special kind of music working very well with reading comics. I listen to Boards of Cananda. You can also listen all day to limbik frequencies(google it) and this is soooooo relaxing. What do you reckon?

I tend to listen to Movie and Game Sountracks. At the Moment I am a true sucker for Jesper Kyd, especcially the Assassin's Creed Soundtracks

I can't read anything with music that has lyrics - so I either listen to film scores, electronic music (Boards of Canada is a good shout), or basically anything instrumental.

Sometimes even that can be distracting - like if a really loud intense track comes up during a quiet dialogue-led scene in the book. You win some and lose some.

The best music while reading is no music at all. I either don't notice the music, or I notice too much of it that reading becomes distracted. I usually play pink noise/ ambient noise if I'm in a public place with earphones.

Jerry Goldsmith, Lalo Schiffrin, John Barry, Riz Otalini, and tons of other soundtrack composers.

Here's my favorite John Barry composition btw...

For the longest time I couldnt read without listening to music because I found the silence distracting so I would just put the radio on or my iPod on shuffle. Now I find that listening to music while reading is insanely distracting. Unless the music has no lyrics.

Pretty much any old school progressive rock or blues music...

I'm kind of deaf, so if I play it low enough ill just here the music, not the lyrics
