Yeah it's the classic DC debate. I'd like this to not get heated and stay logical.

Here is the scenario. Superman goes evil (just go with it). Destruction ensues. JL gets a heads up and Batman decides to go himself and talk to his friend. But the Bats isn't a fool. He prepares for any contingency. They meet in in the middle of the mid-west to finish the fight. Who wins?

Batman. That's just the way it goes, because:

A) No matter what Superman would never kill Bruce.

B) He met Bruce under Bruce's terms, Bruce would have every GL Wonder Woman and J'onn there to help.

Well Batman already fought Sups in the Hush story and he had a kryptonite ring and he was still struggling he even knows that Sups is holding back. The fight ended with sups snapping out of Ivys control but I think if the fight would have went on Batman would have lost.

Wouldn't B just be Superman vs. JLA instead of S vs. B?

The point being that it would end up being Superman and Batman going at it because if any
superhero is going to fight Superman and have any chance of winning it would have to be Batman.

It has got to be Batman in every scenario.
Superman would have to be at his most ruthless to be able to take Bats down, and his over belief in this (alleged) power superiority would probably make him sloppy enough to fall prey to any one of Batman's well thought out contingency plans! Whether it be kryptonite rings, gas or any other weakness he could exploit. And I do believe that Bruce is not to proud to call in the JL as a last resort, though if only as a distraction while he hatches the final plan to bring Supes down.

Just out of curiosity, anyone read the last issue of Superman/Batman!

The answer HAS to be Batman.... Because he always has a backup plan.... You don't realy think that he doesn't have a "Stop Superman if he goes evil" plan? And plus he beat the crap out of Clarck in Batman the dark knight returns.... Yeah he had a heat attack during the battle, but he was a 50-yearold man fighting a most powerful guy on the planet and he was beating the crap out of him.... So yeah I think the Bat would win....

P.S. I did read it.... It was nice to see Batman and Superman of DC 1.000.000.....

And I forgot: in JLA tower of Babel Batman had plans on how to stop ALL of the JLA members in case they go insane and evil.... Bat wins!

My question is; Batman during what era?
If it was Batman after all the deaths and shit he suffered through; and before Batman, Inc. I think Batman would try to go it alone- He doesn't want anyone else to die, then he fights Superman, Batman almost dies. He calls the one persons he trusts and has the balls to call; Dick Grayson. Dick Grayson then does his magical inspiration speeches and everyone comes and helps.

From what I have seen of the two I would have to say batman. I say this because Bats always has a plan and tends to plot out every little detail. Batman would have a plan as to how to keep Sup busy while he got set up to defeat him.

I think most people do seem to agree, that the Bat is the man when it comes to this. As illustrated in Superman/Batman 78 (sorry this is the issue I meant, I haven't read 79 yet). In the last few panels after the kids have come to their final conclusion, you have Bats and Supes bit of banter. Even if he was bluffing/joking Supes still was very worried!

Right time to read issue 79 :bat: :superman:

If it were a spur of the moment fight? Superman all the way.

If Batman has time to put any number of plans in place? Then Batman

Batman. When it comes down to it, he's a self made man/hero, he has more weight. Superman was born into it.

It's Superman... However many contingency plans Batman has Superman is every bit as cunning as Batman (his name is "Superman" not Above Average Man"). If Supes in fact goes evil He would be "Super" smart enough to remove the linchpin of his possible demise. Superman would show at the Batcave (or Watchtower) walk up to Bats with a big smile and lobotomize him with his heat vision.

I hear people complain often that Superman is too powerful, he can do X,Y,Z. that's why his villains are lame. I beg to differ I think DC writers have made Batman this unstoppable force... That even SUPERman can't beat... Huh?!?!?
