"No more Phoenix". Really? That's it? Why didn't they just do that 12 issues ago?

I can.

Spoiler: show
Fuck you Jason Aaron.

And Batman55555, Colossus is in Cable & X-Force, a book about being on the run from the law. (Not spoilered as it's not a spoiler)

All that just to reboot several books? I can't imagine how I would have ended the event, but I doubt I would have thought 'Hey, this is a good idea!'

so...
Spoiler: show
Cyke's in jail... makes me think that funky x-visor thingy we some on the original Marvel NOW teaser was some sort of helmet device to prevent him from using his powers.

I have no problem with Cyke being defeated rather than dying... it opens lots of possibilities for future stories. Most interestingly, though, is for the immediate future of the X-Men... Chuck's dead, Cyke's in jail... does that make Wolverine the defacto leader of all things X? And when will Scott and wolvie get their first interaction since this all went down... I know it was show n a little bit but in Uncanny X-Men they showed a little more all from Scott's POV and Jean said to tell Logan she liked the name of the school. I wonder if Jean's "appearance" was Scott's subconscious or if it was part of her that was still with the Phoenix.

speaking of... "No More Phoenix?" Pretty cheap ploy and the Phoenix will be back one day. We all know that. As Scott pointed out... that's the nature of the Phoenix, before rebirth there must be great devastation... that's a cycle that perpetuates itself thus will happen again.

One thing that should have happened here was explain how the X-Men of the past come to the present. I thought for sure we would have seen a glimpse of it... perhaps in the Phoenix's death throes a wormhole of something opened bringing them forward.

I'm actually a lot happier than I thought I would be with how it all wrapped up. It is the nature of things that not everyone will like the changes made, however I can see many ways in which this story could have ended worse.

I'm still not entirely convinced about some of the upcoming Marvel Now books, but will give them a fair go before writing any of them off.

If they just sat down and talked about it the entire event could have been avoided.

Duh! that doesn't even make sense....first, they (writers/architects) did talk about it (im thinking they probably would have been sitting at some point)...and second, why would they have avoided the entire event?!?

wait...are you saying by "they"...you mean the Avengers and the X-Men?!?

Either way...that would be like...

Spoiler: show
Making a spectacular porn video with all the porn stars having their clothes on and not doing any of their regular "jobs"

that won't be "helping" anyone...right jizzme? I'll wait for SHIELD to weigh in on this

Okay, I'm curious, but how many unresolved plots were leftover from this storyline? One of the most prominent ones was the weird mental image Wanda had of the X-Men destroying the "classic" Avengers. It seemed to be implying some sort of time travel story or erasing the Avengers from history, but... it didn't really turn out to be anything.

Was on WWE.com and it seems when AvX goes on hardcover the introduction will have been done by WWE Superstar CM Punk.

OK who thinks cyke was but a victim of iron man's attempt at stopping the phoenix phorce?
After all, his erratic behaviour begun AFTER the phoenix force empossessed him: if it had possessed Hope as he planned, everything destructive that happened afterwise would simply not have came to be...
They should imprison Tony Stark...

I have the strong feeling, that they did put more thought into consequences then in the main event.

Stark came out of Civil War squeeky clean so no chance of having any kind of sanction against him from anything that happened in AvX.

Seems to be a familiar sentiment - they put more effort into setting up the new post-event status quo than the actual event itself.

People were in for the main event judging solely on the first three months of covers - once they have people it doesn't matter the quality. After the event, the books need to be good to hook new readers and bring back the people who said 'I'm never reading a comic from Marvel again!' due to the crappy event.
