That seems a bit odd! It knida made sense as a book launched as a kinda spin-off from the movie, but changing the line-up now diverges from that, and asks the question of why another Avengers book when we already have three?

I suppose if they change the line up for each arc it would make more sense. Though somehow I can still imagine people asking whether this means there will be plans to introduce Spider Woman in the new movie!

Well, technically there's 7 other Avengers titles but that just makes the point worse :)

Very good point, but yeah that does strengthen it. Mind you it's not as if we didn't know that these extra books are purely to cash in on their "Hot Property!"

Just out of curiosity, were you including Avenging Spider-Man in that line up of Avengers books?

Nope, was thinking of things post Marvel Now though. Once that hits it'll be:

Uncanny Avengers
The Avengers (twice a month)
New Avengers
Avengers Assemble
Secret Avengers
Dark Avengers
Avengers Academy
A+X (Avengers/X-Men anthology book)

plus any extra minis you want to throw in (AvX Consequences, Avengers vs Marvel Universe, etc)

Oh fer f***s sake...that just sounds stupid. I honestly wish that I could have just picked it up without seeing that, however I just feel like dropping the book now.

I didn't like it either. Too little good action and "empty" characters. too bad

I was just reading back through my earlier complaint and have to admit that despite all my belly-achin that I have read everyone of those Avengers titles that I thought were too many. And further more I actually got into Avengers Assemble and have stuck with it. I suppose really after AvX you just had to have as many avengers titles as X-titles with two that basically cross the (now much smaller) divide!

I must say the fanboy in me loved Spider-Woman's ringtone in the latest issue. As a result I have been singing the tune in my head all day now! :-)
