After being in development for more than six years, Disney has a release date for an Ant-Man film from Marvel Studios: November 6, 2015.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and Shaun of the Dead director Edgar Wright has been attached to the property since 2006, and appeared this past July at Comic-Con International at the Marvel Studios panel to show Ant-Man test footage.

In the same press release, Disney confirmed that 2013's Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World will both be in 3D; a first for a solo Iron Man movie.

The currently untitled sequel to The Avengers is scheduled out the same year as Ant-Man — May 1, 2015.

I don't know how interested I am in seeing Pym or O'Grady's story on the screen.

I think Pym could be interesting, as long as Wasp isn't too annoying. I'm not super hyped or anything, but I can see it being a good movie.

That date probably puts an end to any chance of Ant Man joining the roster for Avengers 2.

Pym,Lang or O'Grady would be great, but I don‘t think Ant-Man can hold his own solo movie,he and Janet should be in Avengers, also I hope they make a Black Widow or a Hawkeye solo flick in the near future

Honestly not interested to see this, I think this might be a filler movie at the wrong time. Then again I'm not a huge fan of Ant-Man to begin with.

I like Ant Man. As a comic character. Scientist Supreme, five different identities, a history of multiple personality disorder... Where will they pluck the story from, out of all the choice? He invents shrinking gas and fights Whirlwind? But he can't do that if Fox own all mutant characters...

Has that sizzle-footage of the Ant-man fight scene from some con months ago made it anywhere we can see yet? I've heard the size-changing fight choreography was amazing!

I think this might be what you're talking about... It's a 'bootleg' though, captured by someones camera phone...

Marvel seem to want this to go against Superman/Batman.

Edgar Wright + the Robert Kirkman Irredeemable Ant Man (Eric O'Grady) = potentially very good

Edgar Wright + Henry/Hank Pym = potentially less so

So Ant-Man has been cast:

Code:
http://marvel.com/news/movies/2013/12/19/21669/paul_rudd_set_to_star_in_marvels_ant-man

Comic Book Resources wrote:
Marvel has confirmed Paul Rudd will star in the title role of 2015's "Ant-Man," via a post Thursday evening on Marvel.com. This comes one day after reports Rudd had been offered the role, and was in "early talks" for a deal.

“When Edgar Wright came to us with the idea of Paul Rudd, we felt a huge sense of relief because the first step in creating any Marvel Studios film is finding the right star," Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said in a statement. "We knew early on that we had found the right person in Paul. When he not only agreed to do it but became as enthusiastic as any actor we’d ever met with about doing the work, we knew we'd found the right guy. We couldn't be more excited for our audiences to see what he's going to do to bring Ant-Man to life."

Notably, Marvel's release doesn't specify which Ant-Man Rudd will be playing, as both Hank Pym (the first, and an original member of the Avengers) and Scott Lang have previously been mentioned in connection with the film.

Which Ant-Man do you think Paul Rudd would work as best? Pym, Lang or O'Grady?

Ant Man? That has to be Marvel's absolute worst idea ever! Are they just trying to add to the Avenger's roster for one of the next movies? So now every minor Avenger's character gets a movie? smh
