Looks like an upper mid-card clear out is in full swing at WWE as now they've let Umaga go too, less than a fortnight after releasing Mr Kennedy.

Umaga released

World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of SmackDown Superstar Umaga as of today, June 8, 2009. WWE wishes Umaga the best in all future endeavors.

It was for the best for Umaga to go cause they still weren't doing anything good with him as far as I know cause to me it was random for them to start up a CM Punk Vs. Umaga feud I think they just needed another match for Extreme Rules so they did something random.

It's the old lame cop out - creative had no ideas for him. If you have a writer with no ideas, fire the writer!

Umaga was a good upper mid card monster heel. Still think that WWE contracts aren't worth the paper they're written on.

they won't fire Kane because he's been with them for over 10 years

Nobody said Kane and well they can't fire a writer I mean Umaga is good I guess but mostly what he did and pretty much always did was that wrestler beat up no name wrestlers in televised wrestling or were used to be a like a obstacle for most of the well known wrestlers in WWE. It seemed like kind of a fluke that he was once champion to me like he didnt have a good enough reign.

So many things:

The post directly above mine mentions Kane.

Of course they can fire the writers, they're just like any other employee. What makes you think they can't?

Umaga is a big guy who can actually wrestle. Hell, he even made Cena look good in some of their early matches.

Are you getting a bit mixed up in that last comment? Umaga never held any of the top level belts, only made it to IC Champ level.

Are you sure cause I thought once upon a time he had the World title? Or maybe I am wrong and just thinking of the times he had shots at the title and lost.

He had a couple of title matches against Cena & HHH but never actually won either of the big belts.

I think that the creative teams are not really doing a good job with stories that suck you in, like back in the day when Umaga was in 3 Minute Warning I thought they were at least interesting, but now he is clearly not worth the trouble to fit in

Umanga was never a World champ, I mentioned Kane because it has been rumored that people will be getting fired due a to lack of creative storylines

It might be possible I am not sure but it is possible since they haven't been able to do much with him I guess they have ran out of good storylines with Kane.

They won't fire Kane because they can make more movies with him I'm guessing.
