First arc just wrapped up, surprisingly quick for Bendis. I really enjoyed it and Immonen is one of my favorite artist. Thoughts....

Expected to hate it, actually enjoyed it somewhat.

overall a really good story. Still feels like a What If... or alternate story timeline... especially with....

Spoiler: show
Beasts newest look and transformation/mutation
but I suppose we've all become accustomed to that happening! :D

I'm enjoying this series moreso than I thought I would when first announced. The latest issue was good also, with Jean Grey learning of her history, and Beast's transformation, which was much needed.. Hated the "cat" Beast. Much more 'traditional' Beast look. Would've been great if they could've completely reversed him back to his original look, but this'll do.

I didn't care for cat beast but hulk beast looks much worse.

I'd rather he went back to original blue, too, but I like this better than the Jean Cocteau wanna-be that's been around for awhile.

Hopefully artists will update their references... Old-style Beast comes and goes. In the Secret Avengers' AvX issues he was very old-style.

That Splash page with Jean going through her entire history was beautiful! Anyone else think Beast head looks very small in his new form?

Beasts head looks too small for that new body size

Despite its many critics (though, not here, it seems), I think, All New X-Men is really good and much better than what Bendis had been writing for Avengers in the last two years. The new arc with David Marquez looks even better, IMO.

I was really angry when I first found out this was happening. I'm glad I gave it a chance. I'm really intrigued now that
Spoiler: show
Jean has been named team leader.

Would the New X-Men be a good jumping on point to someone who has never read an X book? (20 year DC guy)

I would say yes. It's the aftermath of AvX and it's the only X-men title that's good nowadays.

Well,

Wolverine and the X-men
Cable and X-Force
X-Factor (not really an X-Men book, but it has an X in the title and its awesome)
X-Men (the upcoming one looks decent)
X-Treme X-Men (although its almost over)

are also good X-books, but All New X-men is one of the best.
